The election fever is on. This is a pivotal election and has vast importance not only for India, but also for the world.

The Congress has ruled for 10 years. But these are wasted years as the country has slid down in world esteem and economically the people are worse off.

In a such a scenario, Narendra Modi has emerged. His is a credible alternative and the people are enthused.  Here is a man who was a waiter in a tea stall and now is challenging the corrupt Congress leadership. Its almost like a JUGGERNAUT and the Congress is worried. The wrath of the people must be faced by Manmohan and Sonia

Bihari Babu: Shatrughan Sinha is a Flop in Bihar Politics

Shatrughan Sinha was an average plus actor on the Mumbai screen, but he never reached the apex of stardom, which was reached by Dilip Kumar, Amitabh,Rajesh Khanna etc. Despite this he assumed he could reach the apex in politics and at some stage become the Chief Minister of Bihar.He decided to make a mark in politics and joined the BJP.

But Sinha could not come to terms with politics of Bihar. It did not help that most of the time he whiled away time in Mumbai. He never entered the grass roots of the BJP and his own party never considered him CM material. Perhaps I will agree with this assessment. He also displayed petulance when Narendra Modi was being projected as Prime Minister designate. He came up with anti Modi statements and even met the sworn enemy of Modi, Nitesh Kumar( present CM od Bihar). All this shows that Shatrughan Sinha is out of tune with the current trend among the masses. i won't be surprised in case he comes a cropper in the next election. It is obvious he has shot his bolt..

Nitesh Kumar will be the Loser with this Bombing by Indian Mujahaddin

The IM is a terrorist group bent on destabilizing the country. Unfortunately the Bihar Chief Minister Mr Nitesh Kumar does not see it that way. he feels that in the larger interest of vote polarization, this is a good thing. No wonder he despite an terror alert by the Intelligence Bureau, ignored it. this is sad as Nitesh in his dream to be Prime Minister, can go to any extreme. Its like cutting his own nose to spite a amorphous enemy, the BJP. Nitesh Kumar is a man with a small mind. He has also asked his police not to arrest any Muslim terrorists, thinking that this will win him the minority vote. Unfortunately its the bane of India, that men like Nitesh Kumar are sitting as men of authority. India lost earlier with traitors like Jai Chand and Mir Kasim. Nitesh is also one who fills the bill. The least the public can do is to boot him out. I am sure it will happen

Lalu Becomes a Aloo and Goes to Jail

Lalu Prasad Yadav is a prominent politician in India from the state of Bihar. Unfortunately Lalu for all his rural appeal had a streak of malevolence. He was greedy and took part in a scam where he milked the state exchequer of a million dollars. The incident came to the fore in 1996 and the case was filed against him. Lalu dodged the court and law for 17 years, till finally nemesis caught up with him and he was sentenced to 5 years in jail by the special CBI court in Ranchi. Lalau was promptly taken to jail and the man who was India's rail minister and Chief Minister of Bihar became just a number in the jail.

Lalu had made a statement that so long as a samosa is there, aloo is there and Lalu will be ruler of Bihar. Unfortunately the samosa has remained and the Lalu like the alu( potato) has been jailed. Samosa is a typical Indian fried pan cake with potatoes.

How did Lalu survive the clutches of law for 17 long years? This is because of the weakness in the judicial system that allows politicians to manipulate it. The Congress party which had been supported by Lalu all along tried every trick to save Lalu, but public anger forced them back. Indian political system will never be the same with the Lalu going to jail. I must say it is a sentence he deserved, but what about his backers led by Sonia Gandhi? Don't they also deserve jail as accessories to Lalu's misdemeanors?

Is it a fact that Men and Horses never Age as far as Sex is concerned?

My Uncle is 68 years old and surprised all of us by announcing grandly that he was marrying a fashion model 35 years his junior. That was a year back and the product is a daughter now 2 months old. I have been wondering whether the age old adage that horses and men never age is true. There are umpteen cases like this. The great actor Anthony Quinn ( Now no more, bless his soul) had a child when he was 82. He must have been a virile man. So many other cases have come to the fore. The latest is of Rupert Murdoch who married a Chinese girl Wendy who was 38 years younger to him. She has given Murdoch 2 daughters. The couple are now divorcing. One can’t forget the Playboy owner Hugh Hefner wedding a model just a few months back.

The fact is that biologically, man in case he exercises and remains fit has his sex drive intact. Thus we see so many older men women marrying or having a relationship. Vatsyayana the great Hindu writer in his Kamasutra has recommended that older men have a relationship with younger women for a longer and healthier life. This perhaps is the answer to the question

Memoir: Most Satisfying Women in Bed

Women are gods greatest gift to men. This is from time immemorial and even mythology records that Eve was created for Adam only. In the present age there is greater emancipation and women are having a few rights, I say few as many are still enmeshed in dogma and religion and much of it is against sex and orgasm. I have been wondering that women come from diverse races, nationalities and religions spread over a 150 countries. It is well nigh impossible to pinpoint which class of women can be the most satisfying in bed. This for the simple reason that it is impossible for one man to sleep with so many women even in his life time to form a judgement.Having said that, a few generalities can be stated which can be a pointer.

In India itself there are diverse racial women from Punjabi to Tamilian and Maharashtra to Muslim. Then we have Russian and American, Scandinavian and South East Asian. I confess but my limited experience shows that in India the Tamil woman is the most receptive to sex. She is most volatile ( Maybe because of the tropical climate). Women from the tribal areas of Assam also orgasm faster.Out of the other women nothing beats the American woman. She is liberated and not sexually repressed. American woman as a rule are most satisfying in bed.

I would put the Scandinavian women at the bottom of the scale, maybe because sex is so free there that it has become clinical.Well these are just musings of a globe trotter and not any authentic research. Yes Italian women enmeshed in Catholicism are a just a point below the American women. What about a comparison of a Tamil woman with an American? Indian ship carrying Oil Seized by Iran

Today on India's independence day, the disconcerting news has just come that an Indian ship carrying oil from Iraq, was seized by Iranian revolutionary guards in international waters and taken inside Iranian waters. The Iranians have informed India that the ship was'polluting' the ocean and had been detained. This is just a smokescreen and shows two things. Firstly Iran can hold up all shipping through the strait of Hormuz and secondly it is not a friend of India. Its about time the Indian establishment led by the docile and inefficient prime minister Man Mohan Singh realized this.

The seizure in international waters portend a dangerous game by Iran. This has happened despite the US Navy maintaining a task force with an Aircraft Carrier in the area with the ostensible reason of keeping the shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian gulf free of Iranian interference. Obviously the task force is unable to prevent such things happening. For long the Iranians have threatened to block the strait of Hormuz and choke the supply of oil to the world. Nearly 30% of the world's oil flows through the Persian Gulf.

The situation is fraught with dangerous possibilities and this Iranian action in seizing an Indian ship needs a measured response from India. But with a negligible naval presence in the Persian Gulf, India will be hard put to contain any further Iranian action. The foreign policy based on a sand castle, that Iran is a friend of India needs to be consigned to the depths of the Arabian Sea.

My visit to Kabul: a Recap

Kabul appears a forbidding place. Its in the news for all the wrong reasons, bombs, terror attack, suicide bombers and what not. So when I landed in Kabul it was a refreshing surprise. Kabul has a modern airport and immigration formalities did take some time. Once outside I found I had been given a bullet proof car and a gunman. He supported a AK 47. Frankly I felt they were not needed as the Afghan love Indians and I was overwhelmed with their hospitality. They hate Pakistanis, who they blame for all their troubles. Excellent food is available and the Afghan Naan is huge one. It is relished with chicken. Afghan cuisine is more akin to Indian north food. Its wonderful and the Afghan want to treat you to the best foods. There are barbed wires everywhere, a reminder that Taliban are not far off. One Afghan told me" Friend you come here in place of these bloody Americans". That's the reality. They don't want America and hope India will help. I stayed 2 days in Kabul and came back happy. Kabul is a great place. What friendly people.

The Law of Karma( Deeds) will always Catch up with You

Almost all religions tell us to be good. By being good means doing things that spread love and do not harm anybody, physically or mentally. Hindu religion also lays great stress on deeds or karma. Hindu thought says that in case you do good deeds this will reflect in your present life. Sometimes this good will come back in the next life i.e rebirth. One of the theories of karma is to pay the dues to all persons. In case you do not pay, God will exact payment many times what you didn't pay. Thus money lenders who take money and not acknowledge it or people who refuse to pay legitimate dues, thinking nothing will happen to them as they are outside the pale of law are living in fallacy. God will take note of this as a bad Karma and such people will face his wrath in years to come. It may come after 20 or 30 years but God keeps a balance book and at the right time bad Karma will have to be atoned. So friends and readers never cheat. This is bad karma and will surely be noted as such

Two legends Pirate Blue Beard and Lover Blue Beard that Enrich our Lives

Two men who are distinguished by the color of their bears are Black Beard and Blue Beard. Both men have become of part of folk tales, while Black Beard was a real character in flesh and blood and was a pirate, Blue bear is a character from the world of fairy tales and he loved women , married them and then killed them. Black Beard operated in the 17th century. He took to piracy at a time when England condoned pirates as a second line of defense. Many pirates were pardoned later and Sir Francis Drake is an excellent example. He sailed around the world and returned with booty worth 1.5 million pounds. The legend of Blue beard as brought out to children is of a man who married women and secretly killed them and kept the bodies in a closet with a special key, which he gave to his new wife with the injunction never to open the closet. However it was a case of one times too many and Blue beard was killed and his last wife rescued. Both tales of Black beard and Blue beard make interesting reading and our life is richer with tales of such characters to enliven us.

The Case of Sharrukh Khan: a man with a Flawed Thinking

Recently in Abudhabi, I was watching a Pak TV channel. It pained me to listen that Sharrukh Khan felt insecure in India. The program went on to quote him verbatim and as a patriotic Indian all this looked very bad. I expected Sharrukh to rebut this program,but till date it has not happened.

Sharrukh Khan is a Muslim star in a predominant Hindu country. He has risen up on the back of this vast Hindu populace. This is not a cliche, but a fact of everyday life. Sharrukh is nothing without this mass support from a predominant Hindu fan following. One wonders how Mr. Khan is feeling insecure in India with millions adulating him. For Sharrukh Khan to feel insecure is a traversity of Indian secularism.

I am reminded of an earlier star Dilip Kumar(Yusaf Khan) who also was involved in dubious actions. This man strutted about the stage in 1962 as patriot, when China attacked India. But come the 1965 war with Pakistan and Dilip Kumar failed to laud the Indian war effort or condemn Pakistan. One wondered where his loyality was. Sharrukh has not covered himself with glory and has shown that basically he is a small man with a petty mind. I wonder he knows about Muslim leaders like Maulana Azad and Humuyan Kabir who left Jinnah to be with Gandhi. Sharruks actions should not condoned. Its about time somebody thre the gauntalet and picked it up.India is too great a country to be trivalized by a man who cannot see beyond the horizon

Muslim Stars dominate Hindu India Cinema

The Indian movie industry has now come of age and serious movies are also being made that cater to the world market. But there is a dichotomy that is hard to explain as in a country with a overwhelming Hindu population, the major top stars all profess the Moslem religion. Thus the top stars of the Hindi films like Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman khan et all are Moslems. Though i

s as well but the popularity of the Moslem stars is unrivaled.

It is not only the Moslem film stars who rule the roost in India but even all other departments of film craft like direction, music, editing, songs etc are dominated by the minority community. But the fact remains that the Moslem stars have endeared themselves to the vast majority of Hindus who literally adore them. Thus any talk of discrimination against the minority community is perhaps redundant.

We have leaders like Bala sahib Thackeray and the Viswa Hindu Parishad who cater to Hindu revivalist thought. But even these organizations are unable to dent the popularity of the Moslem stars. Moslem stars have always ruled the Hindi film world ever since the movie industry was launched in India. In the earlier period just after independence most of the Moslem stars adopted Hindu names. The most prominent being Yusuf khan who adopted the name Dilip Kumar. But in the present age most Moslem stars are proud to flaunt their religion and again their popularity has not diminished among the Hindu masses.

The King of the Mumbai film world is Shah Rukh Khan who has endeared himself to the Indian public with a variety of roles. He is one star who is versatile and does justice to all his roles. The trend of male heroes is not an exception as female Moslem stars are also making a name for themselves. Prominent being Katrina kaif. One can truly say that Indian secularism has come of age.

Case of the RED LIGHT BANDIT, a man who raped in the Last Century

Caryl Chessman is a unique name, in the sense he must be one of a few of a tribe who turned writers while in prison. Chess man remained on death row for 12 years before he was executed by the gas chamber in 1960. During this period he also authored 4 books and inspired a film by Hollywood. One is reminded about this case now, as America has an endemic crime record and the killings at Connecticut are nothing new. Chessman was an average American but he had a streak of violence in him. His modus operandi was simple. He traveled on the roads in California with a red light on top of his car. People believed him to be a cop and pulled up when he signaled them to stop. Thus he got the name “Red Light bandit”.

After the cars pulled up Chessman would rob the passengers and in case the driver was a girl he would drag her out of the car for sex, rape and oral sex. Two cases that were proved in court were the case of 17 year old Mary Alice Meza who under threat performed oral sex on Chessman and 22 year old Regina Johnson who was dragged 22 feet from the car to a clump of trees and raped.

In 1948 Chessman was arrested and put on trial. He was sentenced to death for a total of 17 offences of rape and robbery. A peculiar aspect of this case was the death sentence awarded. At that time kidnapping was an offence that merited the death penalty. The fact the girl Regina Johnson was dragged 22 feet from the car made the application of kidnapping charge stick to Chessman and he was awarded the death sentence in 1948.

Chessman claimed he was innocent but he could not give much proof on this account. He earned a reprieve from the gallows on a number of occasions as eminent persons argued to save his life, but his luck finally ran out and on 2 May 1960 was executed

Is Raj Thackeray Correct: All Crimes of Rape and Murder are done by Biharis?

Raj Thackeray is a maverick politician who is prone to making sensational and provocative statements. For this many FIR’s have been filed against him. Not for a moment will I support Raj Thackeray, but having said that it is important we analyse the crimes of rape and women in India. There is no doubt that the socio- economic situation in Bihar is bad. The caste divide is extreme, so much so that people will be surprised to know that in Patna even the Police billets are segregated on caste lines.

The second point that must be emphasised is that Bihar is a feudal state where the women have been subjugated and made second class citizens. Add to this the caste equation and you have a deadly concoction of the worst case of socio economic scenario one can think off. Bihar is almost a lawless state, despite all efforts of Nits Kumar the state remains steeped in obscurantism and backwardness. Industrial production is nonexistent and jobs are difficult to come by. With the loss of the mineral rich areas to Jharkhand, Bihar has almost empty coffers.

Thus the pressure to migrate to other states is extreme and many Biharis migrate to Delhi, Calcutta and Bombay for a livelihood. When this crowd leaves Bihar they mostly leave their families behind and work single in the metropolis. Conditioned by a feudal background these Bihar men are easily susceptible to crime. There is no doubt that a large number of crimes of rape and other sex related matters can be traced to people from Bihar. Unable to visualize a freedom of girls in dress and demeanor, that they have not seen in Bihar these Bihari workers are easily swayed and base thoughts come to them resulting in crimes of rape.

Unfortunately this also applies to Eastern Utter Pradesh which is also the sister state of Bihar in terms of obscurantism and backwardness. Perhaps the only solution is to not only enact stringent laws, but also improve the socio- economic scenario in Bihar and UP. Incidentally it is not only Raj who has articulated these thoughts but the Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit has also earlier gone on record with the same observations. The fact is the Bihar and UP constitutes 40% of India’s population and curbing this menace of rape and crime by men of this state is no easy task

The Memoirs of Field Marshal Keitel

Hitler's Chief Planner Field Marshal Keitel was a member of Hitlers inner circle. He was involved in all plans and decisions since 1938 and thus was an active participant in the conduct of the war. At the end of the war he was arrested by the Allies and tried for war crimes against humanity. Keitel was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging. Once the verdict was handed down at Nuremburg, Keitel wrote his memoirs in about 6 weeks. He completed his memoirs and requested as a soldier that he be shot to death . This request was refused and he was duly hanged. Thus ended a sordid chapter in German history. Keitel in his memoirs has tried to present his point of view. But sadly throughout the book there is no remorse that he was part of the greatest killing machine in history. Keitel tries to keep upthe image of a professional army, but he has nothing to say about his many controversial orders which he signed that besmirched the uniform of the officer corps of the German army. The fact that he did ever try to moderate the inhuman orders of Hitler clearly stand out.

The Memoirs The memoirs are interesting to read. In particular his account of the last days of the Reich and the German surrender are interesting. The surrender is graphically presented and one gets a view of that period through German eyes. Keitel I am afraid has little sympathy. Perhaps he thought that he would get away by claiming that he only obeyed orders as a soldier. But it did not work. There were too many orders to kill jews, communists, Allied raiding parties were sentenced to be shot in an order signed by him which went against the Geneva convention. Keitel had to pay for his crimes. Thus his last request to be shot was rejected and he was hanged.
