How do we Solve the Kashmir Problem? * 65

KASHMIR AND THE PARALLEL WITH TIBET

In 1950 the peoples liberation army  on orders of the Central Committee of the Communist party invaded the state of Tibet . Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was keen for an Indian intervention to rescue Tibet, but Nehru by a twisted logic did not intervene.
Once the Chinese took control over Tibet they began a steady integration of the state with China.  They also planned to kidnap the Dalai Lama and  take him to China, but by a ruse he escaped in the dead of night from Lhasa to India. The Chinese discovered his absence after 2 days, by which time he was close to the Indian border. The Dalai Lama was given asylum in India  and along with him thousands of Tibetans also escaped to india.
At a conservative estimate more than 2 million refugees have escaped to India from Tibet. After the 1962 defeat at the hands of China, the Indians in conjunction with the USA tried a rebellion against the Chinese. This was called the Khampa revolt, but it failed because of a ruthless  execution by China. Thousands of Khampa rebels were shot dead and the movement petered out.
The Chinese also forcibly married Tibetan nuns to Chinese soldiers and opened Tibet to settlement by Chinese. Their plan was to try and change the demographic composition of Tibet's population. The Chinese refused to allow any Tibetan from India or the Dalai Lama to enter Tibet and for 60 years have refused to negotiate with him,. they have also put pressure on countries not to receive the Dalai lama and to some extent have been successful. In fact the world now does very little for Tibetan independence and that includes the USA, as they are scared of political, military and economic might of China.
However the Chinese have brought in a degree of economic progress in Tibet and an example is the high speed pressurised train from China to Lhasa. The Chinese crush dissent in Tibet with an iron hand and many pro independence agitators are jailed for over 20 years.
In contrast India has handled the Kashmir problem with kid gloves. The Indian  state has accepted a separate flag and constitution for Kashmir and the separatists who form the Hurriyat are given protection and allowed to roam free. In addition Article 370 is incorporated in the Indian constitution giving special status  to Kashmir and no Indian from another state can settle in there. The state of Kashmir is thus effectively insulated from the rest of India.
What a contrast with China's handling of Tibet. .The way the Indian leadership is moving a stage may well come when we hand over the Muslim valley to Pakistan, for the simple reason the political leadership is unable to take hard decisions on Kashmir like abrogating article 370 and junking special status for kashmir. How can the state integrate with India if these trappings remain?

Sikhs are Feeling the Lash after Forsaking India

Terror Attack on Sikhs in USA: Some Stray Thoughts

Misguided Sikhs defaming their homeland

Sikhs in the USA will not forget in a hurry the earlier attack on a Sikh gurudwara and now the latest  defacing of a gurudwara in California..  This community who have settled in the USA, hoping for a brighter future has fallen prey to the ills that dog American society. A gunman armed with an AK47 rifle entered the gurudwara  or temple and shot 6 Sikhs dead before he was taken out by a Police shooter, who also recieved multiple gunshot wound. Many more have been shot in hate crimes.
One has sympathy  with the Siks killed, but there should be no special alarm as it is well known that with the lax gun laws, where anybody can own a gun, such crimes are more the rule than the exception.
One other thing I observed was the local American Sikhs referring to the Sikh temple as a Church. Somehow this gels badly as the US policemen were referring to the  shrine as a Sikh Temple and yet I wonder why the Sikhs were referring to a temple as a church.
It is well known that the USA is a violent society and during my visits there  normally keep to myself . Prudence is better than valor. The Sikhs are unfortunately caught  in a cross fire. There is anarchy and guns all around and not forgetting that this could also be a hate crime. The Sikhs have chosen the USA as a homeland and I find they can't crib now. Another jarring  fact coming out  was a statement of one of the US Sikh leaders who emphasised that Sikhs are not Hindus. This is silly, this man needs to be tought Sikh history where Sikhism is one of the distinct off shoots of Hinduism. The Great Guru Gobind was  a worshipper of the Goddess Kali. Read his Chandi di Var in the Dasam Granth.
All said and done its a sad end for some Sikhs who went to America in search of the elusive El Dorado.

Gandhi and Hanging of Bhagat Singh * 67

Why did Gandhi allow Bhagat Singh to Hang

Gandhi was a leader of the freedom movement during the days of the Raj. One aspect of his character has never been explained. It is now known that he opposed all those who did not agree with his philosophy of Ahimsa and non-violence. He had no concerns, even if such men were sent to the gallows. One of the persons who he opposed tooth and nail was the great Indian revolutionary named Bhagat Singh.
Bhagat Singh was arrested by the British and tried for throwing a bomb in the legislative assembly of the Punjab State. No body was injured as Bhagat had no intention to kill anyone. He and his colleagues were arrested by the British and tried for ” waging war against the state“. The expected verdict came and Bhagat Singh and his associates were all sentenced to death.
Many people approached Gandhi to draft an appeal to the Viceroy to commute the death sentence to life in prison. There were indications that such an appeal would be given due consideration by the Viceroy. Unfortunately Gandhi flatly refused to issue any appeal. His secretary Pyarelal later opined that Gandhi was scared of the popularity of Bhagat Singh and wished that he be removed as an obstacle to his dream of leading India. He thus acquiesced with the hanging of Bhagat Singh , who was hanged to death in Lahore jail in 1931. This will remain a black mark in the life of Gandhi and no amount of explanations can wash away the fact that Gandhi perhaps behaved in a selfish way.
Gandhi was greeted by black flags all over India , but the old man remained unperturbed. The old man was devious as ever

Arun Jaitley: The Man Must Go to Restore Credibilty of Modi

Arun Jaitley is the Finance minister of India and effectively the no 2 man in the hierarchy of the BJP government.  Unfortunately there is big black stain on him and the sooner it is removed , the better for Modi who had come to power on a plank against corruption and nepotism. jaitley is accused of precisely these charges and the main articulate about these charges is  the BJP , member of Parliament  Kirti Azad.

Kirti Azad is a  man with some standing, having not only played for India , but also is the son of Bhagwat Azad the erstwhile Chief Minister of  Bihar. The charges he has levelled against Jaitley are serious and merit not an enquiry, but summary sacking immediately. this is required in case Modi has to keep his  promise to the electorate for a corruption free administration.

Jaitley has been accused for mis appropriation and negligence during the 13 years he was head of the DDCA, the governing body of Delhi cricket. Jaitley sat over corruption that is mind boggling as crores of rupees was swindled right under his nose and yet this man claims innocence.Jaitley needs to be investigated, yes, but first he needs to be kicked out. Strong words but what Sam Maneckshaw  said needs to be repeated.

Jaitley is doing  great harm to the BJP and Modi. There is no doubt that he is culpable of at least negligence and a man who sat at the apex when crores were swindled cannot claim innocence and character assassination. This man has led t India down and tarnished its image in the world. jaitley must be shown the door and if need be tried as an accomplice to swindling of crores of rupees

Visiting Shillong : India's Wales ** 83

Shillong is a hill station and the capital of the state of Meghalaya. Being situated in the far extremity of eastern India, it is out of the tourist circuit of most Indians. It is however a lovely place and was the summer capital of the composite state of Assam. Credit for building Shillong must go to the British who liked the place immensely as it reminded them of Wales.

Reaching
One can reach Shillong easily. Thus people from even South India and the West should have no problem as far as access is concerned. Foreigners one can land at any international airport at Delhi, Calcutta and Mumbai and fly to Barapani. This is the name of the Shillong airfield and is 20km from Shillong. You can also travel by train to Gauhati which is the nearest rail head and is 104 km from Shillong. Once you land at the airport or the railway station, you can take a taxi or luxury bus to Shillong. The journey time is about 3 hours from Gauhati, while the drive from Barapani should take 45 minutes as the road traverses mountains and thick jungles.
The Eastern Command
Shillong itself is a quaint hill station situated at a height of 5000 ft. It is cosmopolitan with a large numbers of Bengalis and Marwari’s resident here. Many North Indians who have married local girls are also resident here. The Nepali’s also form a significant section. It is worth knowing that Shillong is the Headquarters of the Indian Air Force Eastern Command.
Accomodation and Sight Seeing
Accommodation is not a problem at Shillong. One can opt for the four stars Pine Tree hotel or the many Budget hotels. There is also the tourist lodge of the Meghalaya Tourism. Shillong has a number of tourist spots. There is an excellent lake where one can hire a boat for a ride. In addition there is the Burra Bazaar that is manned by Marwari’s.

Word about " Mastram": Anonymous Writer of Porn in Hindi

Anonymous Adult writer Mastram has a Movie on his life

Most people in the Hindi heartland have read Mastram..Mastram is a writer who wrote porn pulp fiction about 3 to 4 decades back. Nobody knows who he was or what his real name was. He has, for decades, remained an enigma, but his books sold heavily mostly among the young boys and girls in the colleges and universities. Many a time a Mastram novel was handed down from one to another and read and re-read. He had a readership that went into millions.

Producer Anurag Kashyap has now made a film on the anonymous writer. He has tried to gather as much information as he could from various sources and the publishers who brought out his books. He wrote in Hindi. He has now produced the film. The movie reveals that Mastram was a poor writer who was heavily in debt and wrote porn fiction in Hindi to earn money to pay off his debts. It was released last week and has stormed the box office.
The release of Mastram the film shows that Mumbai cinema has come of age. Lastly an effort was made by the director as to who Mastram was, but the mystery was not solved and perhaps never will be.

Off Crocodiles and Other Things * 70

The Crocodile is an Endangered Species

There is a lot of news of a lion killed in Zimbabwe by a trophy hunter. This was a despicable act, but the western world is not blameless in this respect. I am talking of conservation of wild life. Recently in Australia authorities found heads of 70 crocodiles stuffed in a freezer. Hunting a crocodile is banned in Australia and can earn a 5 year jail term.

Crocodiles are protected species in Australia and only a few are killed in case they become a danger to human habitation. Thus authorities have to answer how the crocodile heads turned up in the freezer. So far no arrests are made and one can only hope some action will ensue.

Another fact I am unable to digest is people eating crocodile meat. This beats a mans imagination. A friend has written to me that Crocodile meat is served of all places in USA. I am told Crocodile meat is a delicacy in Louisiana state of USA - the alligator variety. The tail meat is costlier. One can get 'Gator burger' or 'Alligator Smoked Sausage' and other preparations in some of the restaurants, available more in 'French Market' area along Mississippi river in New Oeleans city.

Also there are alligator farms where they are bred and reared only for commercial purpose (human cosumption). Alligator heads (after the taxidermy) from very small to large size are displayed and sold in different shops as souvenir. Cost varies between $ 15 to $ 50. Visitors are naturally surprised to see that alligator meat is consumed by the inhabitants. NatGeo channel shows 'Alligator hunting". May be Australia has similar culture in some parts?

Despite this, I do feel crocodile hunting needs to stop. You can't kill one in India, where wild life laws are strict, yet aberrations take place. Talking of crocodiles, their skin is worth a fortune in fashion market with women leading the way. Its about time this was stopped. Crocodiles have become almost extinct in China. We can't let this happen at other places.

Younger Women add spice to Life * 70

Loving Younger Women

I want to state an obvious fact that most men like me, covet and seek out younger attractive women for a relationship. Why? I really have no answer but maybe after all it’s a simple answer. As far as I am concerned I do seek company of younger women and I guess the answer is in one word biology. One reason is that for men the biological clock is different. I recollect reading somewhere that Anthony Quinn the Hollywood star had a child at 82. Not possible for a woman.
Despite some people sneering at older men and younger women in a relationship, the fact is many younger women marry older men it’s again a biological need.
Frankly as I am not a woman, I can’t write from the women’s angle. But I suppose all relationships can only take place if there is mutual attraction, and sexual desire. So at the end of the day the woman must like the man and that is the bottom line.

download (35)
I make no apologies for the fact that many younger women have accepted me as a partner. Maybe its love, I can’t say. But I see nothing wrong with it. All I can say is that many younger women accept me and it’s not for money for I don’t have much.

Godmen and Gold in India * 77

The ancient Hindu texts lay great stress on asceticism, penance and renunciation of the world.  The ancient books with all their lore emphasize this aspect of the Hindu religion repeatedly.  As per Hindu philosophy the ancient holy men and saints retired to the Himalayas to pray and do penance. There they developed spiritual powers.

Even saints like Nanak, Kafir, and Namdev etc who travelled to far away places to preach travelled on foot. They did not do so on horses or chariots. But the dawn of the 20 the century has brought out a new set of baba’s who are the anti-thesis of what the Purana’s preach. These men travel by air-conditioned cars and have all the comforts available. In addition their trusts are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Thus men like Sathya sai baba, Baba Ramdev, Asa Ram Bapu among others all go against what the Gita has preached. The Sathya sai baba outdid him when after his demise 98 kg of gold and over 300 kg of silver was found in his private chambers. Another baba referred to as BAL yogi married his American secretary and one named Mahesh Yogi travelled to distant lands by his private jet plane. Not forgetting Acharya Rajneesh who travelled in fleets of Rolls Royce’s.

The fact is that most of these God men thrive on the blind beliefs of the people. The large numbers of foreigners who flock to these ashrams   come with a fractured personal life and are thus easily susceptible to the aura of these babas and pseudo holy men.  A number of these holy men are under investigation of the Indian government and its enforcement directorate for tax evasion and money laundering. But the sad part is that people still flock to their ashrams and the rich make hefty donations. Perhaps it’s a sign of insecurity of the human being that propels him to take solace in the teachings of these babas

Russia is India's best Bet * 75

In1956 the then Soviet leader Nikita Khruschev visited India along with N Bulganin. The visit was a success and the beginning of a strong relationship. The Russians overturned the policy of Stalin and entered India in a big way
They gave the latest technology to India including weaponry, which the USA and the West had denied India.

The Air Force and army were modernised with the MIG planes and T series tanks. India inched closer to Russia during the seventies with a 20 year treaty of friendship as well. This had a clause for military cooperation as well.

The collapse of the Soviet Union was a blow as India never expected it. Russia was reduced in terms of size and influence There were overtures from USA as it was scared of China, resulting In India putting some of its eggs in the American baskey.

modi is now visiting the Russians and one hopes the old relationship can be restored. India should never forget that Russia vetoed UN resolution on Kashmir in Security Council many times. Its about time old relation ship is restored as itcwill benefit India.  The USA cannot be trusted as it continues to pander to Pakistan, which has vowed to revenge India for creation of Bangladesh

ESP and the Muslim Pir from Mumbai * 67

The Power of ESP and its Manifestation

In life one can come across sometimes strange phenomena that cannot be explained. Some of them are experienced and one can search for a answer, but none is forthcoming. I write of a Moslem Pir who is even now having his meetings on Mohamadali road , close to Bhendi bazar in Mumbai. The Pir is a man of God who possesses uncanny powers connected with ESP.He has the ability to read your mind and then suggest a course of action.

The Pir named Sayyed Nasiruddin Badshamia Qadri Nakshbandi is a hereditary Pir, whose ancestors have all been Pirs. But each generation has passed the secret of divination and ESP to the next generation.Originally from Kutch the Pir now has his ‘durbar’ on Mohamadali road. In fact I met the Pir the first time as a young lad 3 decades back and every time I met him, I came back convinced that this man was no ordinary morta.

The timings for meeting the Pir are to say the least unique. He generally starts his sessions from about 7 pm and sits late up to the early hours of the morning.Hundreds of visitors throng to the Pir’s sessions and believe me, eminent film producers and men of standing are also frequent visitors there. The Pir has a small porcelain plate, in which the visitor puts his thumb and then he has to say nothing as the Pir will then relate to him, why he has come and what is in his mind.

This is uncanny phenomena and cannot be explained by science. Perhaps he has the power of telepathy, but how he developed it is a mystery. It appears these powers are latent in the human body and can be developed by anybody. But the way to go about it is a closely guarded secret. The best part is that the Pir takes no money and has no ‘fee’ to meet him. However one may give him some money as a mark of gratitude for the help he provides. This is the last frontier of science and perhaps at one stage this will also be unravelled. Till then we can meet the Pir and relish the fact that India is home to many mysteries. It will be some time before all these mysteries are unravelled.
Update
The revered Pir passed away a few months back. His going has left a void, but just like water finds its own level, his son Pir Raza Baba has taken over. He is a man of god and one will relish a meeting with him.

Salman Khan is Acquitted: True Face of Justice in India Revealed.

In 2002 a gruesome incident took place. The film star Salman Khan came out of the Marriot Hotel in Juhu and took the wheel. he was drunk and rammed his car in a bakery after running over some sleeping poor people on the pavement. One man died and 4 were seriously injured. Worse the actor ran away from the scene of crime. Which is itself an admission of guilt

the sessions Court convicted Salman Khan of culpable Homicide not amounting to murder and sentenced him to 5 years in Jail. It was a punishment that he deserved, yet many felt it was inadequate.  The wheel has now turned full  circle.  The case ina review petition has been set aside by the Bombay High Court. To say the least it is a bizarre verdict and one wonders how the high court judge acquitted him, when the entire India knew that Salman was at the wheel of the vehicle.

The Indian judiciary has a lot to answer in such and similar cases. It is so easy to find a technical fault, but to punish a rich man is not easy. that is the lesson of this case. Salman is now acquitted, but I am sure in his heart he knows he is a guilty criminal. I hope the Maharashtra government goes in appeal for such a verdict cannot be accepted. One cant have one law for the rich and another for the poor.

Snake Charmer in India * 79

Snakes and Charmers: Indian speciality

For centuries during the days of the British Raj, India was known as the land of snake charmers and sadhus who performed the proverbial rope trick. One reason for this was the abundance of snakes especially the deadly cobra, which incidentally is revered in Hinduism and thus not to be killed. It was important to trap the cobra and not kill it, thus snake charmers came in handy. These snake charmers had special conch shells which they blew and enticed the snakes to come out of their den. The snakes were then skillfully caught by the snake charmer and put in a basket.

A snake charmer is a specialist person and his conch shells has a peculiar vibration that entices the snake to come out. He is also a sort of snake doctor. The snake charmer had the ability to draw out the poison from a human who had been bitten by a snake. Thus most villagers rushed to a snake charmer whenever any one of them was bitten by a snake. Generally the snake charmer made an incision in the body and drained out the poison. It was a painful, but effective method. India still abounds in snakes and is home to the deadliest of their variety the King Cobra. This has not changed.

Snake charmers are now a dying breed though one can see them in village fairs, but they are very few now. If one wants to see a snake charmer now in India one will have to go to the remote countryside and maybe you will be able to see one. Presently the old reference to India as a land of snake charmers and magical rope trick is no longer valid. But I will say it gives a great thrill to read about snake charmers even now, though the breed is almost extinct.

Many western scientists have tried to duplicate the conch shell of the snake charmer, but failedfailed. This is hard to explain as the snake charmers make their conch shells at home. But they emit a particular frequency of vibration that is ‘ heard’ by the snake and so the snake comes out of its den. I saw a snake charmer once on a trip to Rajasthan. It was at a fair in Barmer and it was a great thrill to see the cobra come out from its abode towards the snake charmer who would catch it by the neck. However killing snakes or the Cobras is taboo in Hinduism and many tribal sects worship the snake as a god. The snake god Visaka is also part of Hindu mythology.

Indian Mujahaddin: Home Grown terror Movement

A Look at The Indian Mujahiddin, a Home Grown Movement.

The Indian Mujaheddin is a home grown terrorist movement that aims to set up a caliphate across Asia
O Hindus! O disbelieving faithless Indians! Haven’t you still realized that the falsehood of your 33 crore dirty mud idols and the blasphemy of your deaf, dumb, mute idols are not at all going to save your necks, Insha-Allah, from being slaughtered?”
This is a part of the email sent by the Indian Mujahaiddin after the last  Delhi blasts which killed a score and injured about one hundred people. Who are the Indian Mujahidin? The Indian Mujahidin are Indian terror group whose aim is to set up an Islamic caliphate across south Asia. To further their goal they indulge in terrorist attacks against civil targets in India.
Though the Indian Mujahidin is a home grown movement, yet it maintains strong ties with the well known terrorist organizations operating from Pakistan like the  Lashkar-e; taiba,Jaish-e; Mohammad and harkut ul-Jihad-i-Islami.
The Indian Mujahidin is an off shoot of the student’s Islamic movement of India (SIMI).Once this organization came under the scanner of the Indian and American intelligence agencies, the Indian Mujahidin took shape to evade the security net.
The Indian Mujahidin also considers the USA as an enemy and have vowed to help in the war (Jihad) against the great Satan; the USA. This organization had also given logistic support for the 26/11 carnage in Mumbai when over 2000 been killed.
The United States government hasdeclared  the organization a global terror outfit and also warned Pakistan which is the alma mater of the IM. Another part of the emails received from the IM is quoted below.
“We call you, O Hindus, O enemies of Allah, to take an honest stance with yourselves lest another attack of Ibn-e-Qasimsends shivers down your spines, lest another Ghauri shakes your foundations, and lest another Ghaznawimassacres you, proving your blood to be the cheapest of all mankind! Have youforgotten your history full of subjugation, humiliation, and insult? Or do you want us to repeat it again? Take heed before it is too late!”
All these show a sick mind and I wonder how many Muslims will condemn all this?  However the IM is no where winning the war and their entire leadership is behind bars. The heartening fact is that a few Muslims have condemned these outfits, but the soft approach of the Congress government searching for minority vote banks has resulted in the fact of India being labled a soft state.

Health and sex with a Younger Girl

Tantra Concept of Sex with a Younger Woman

Tantra is one facet of Hinduism which has never been fully understood in the west. It is recognized that one of the ways to achieve salvation or “moksha’ is through the sex act. This is referred to as Tantra.
Tantra is a vast field and covers many topics. One of the topics it covers is sex with a younger woman. As per Tantra theory such a relationship galvanizes the man and leads to greater creativity.
Tantra Sex can only be done under guidance of a guru and it must be clearly understood that unlike the normal sex act, Orgasm is not the goal , but only a milestone on the way to salvation. Thus Tantra sex goes beyond a mere physical act and is supposed to ignite the higher realms of the brain and the mind.
Concept of Tantra sex is a deep philosophy and is not something frivolous.

Hinduism and sex everyday

As per Hindu Philosophy Sex Everyday is Good for both Mind and Body

 emge

Sex is word that raises the hackles of many people, yet modern science confirms in part with Hindu philosophy says about sex. Yhe Hindu facet that deals with sex is Tantra and is as old as history.

Tantra states sex is good for both body and mind. It elevates a man to higher bliss and shows him the path to god and salvation. A man will not concentrate on one orgasm, but try and achieve multiple orgasms as he prolonges the act with his partner. Its a tremendous cure for pre-mature ejaculation.

Sex also has a direct effect on the body cardiovascular system. It tones the heart and relaxes the partners.  Its a wondrrful exercise as the heart pumps in more blood. It has a range of beneficial effects on the body and checks blood pressure and diabetes.  For a man it means a sense of pride and for a woman fulfillment.  Its psychological benefits by far outweigh everything else. Tantra recognized this 4000 years back. So I say sex evetyday is the best thing in life. Who knows you may even learn your past 7 lives, after all rebirth and ttransmigration of soul is the essence of Hindu philosophy.
