Playing Golf at Digboi in Far East Assam: It's great Fun

Upper Assam is a romantic place. I for one who has spent considerable time in this region, remember it as a place with some of the best Golf courses. I do recollect teeing off at the Upper Assam golf Club at Digboi, about 65 km from Dibrugarh. Digboi is a small town with a population of about 20,000, but its importance far outstrips everything. It is the centre of the only oil wells in this region. In addition the golf club, is something that one can never forget.
The golf course was laid out in 1898 and that makes it one of the oldest golf courses in India. The course was re-laid in 1930 and during the war years supported an air strip. The air strip was abandoned after the war and now is part of the 5th fair way. The course by itself is one of the best in India. It has 18 holes and is a 72 PAR course. Many professional golfers have played at this course. I have also played at this course which has a romantic charm of its own.
The course is looked after by the Indian Oil company, and is of international standard. The course winds through a reserved forest and game sanctuary, on three of its sides, while the fourth side gives a view of the mountains of Arunachal Pradesh. This course is one the best in the entire state and is host to a regular competition every year. The course goes through thick jungles. Wild animals like the Leopard, horse, elephant roam in these jungles and in case you start your game early at first light you will be able to see the pug marks of these beasts all over the course, in particular close to the many streams that traverse the course. What a lovely thought it is, playing golf in the land of wild animals. You will have to be careful with your long shots with the woods so that the ball is not lost in the woods close to the course.
The club and golf course are cared for by the Indian oil company. There are eight other golf courses among the tea estates of this area, including an Army golf course. All these courses are 8 or 9 hole courses. But the Digboi golf course is the best. The course has local boys available as caddies. You will certainly need them to insure that you know all the pitfalls and streams that cross the course. So if you happen to visit Digboi, you can't go away without playing a game of Golf.

Remembering Zane Grey's " Riders of the Purple Sage"

Many years down the line I once again red 'Riders of the Purple Sage, ' a novel by Zane Grey. Perhaps more than any other novel, this book contributed to the concept of the American West. It has all the ingredients like a mysterious gunfighter, the outlaw boss and his masked accomplice, the frontier woman torn between love and law, the laconic cowboy out on the range--all these figures became familiar to readers through the work of Zane Grey.
This is the first of Zane Grey's many bestsellers. It’s a stirring tale of adventure and romance. A proud young heroine stands alone against the villains who rustle and stampede her cattle — until stranger rides into the territory. He is like a man sent by Jesus. This is Classic American frontier fiction, teeming with color, authenticity, thrills. One can read it again and again.

Rahul Gandhi is in a Resurgent Mood: Can he Succeed?

The Congress went to the polls after ruling for 10 years. This,
I am afraid is one of the bleakest periods of Indian history after 1947. With scant disregard of the wishes of the Indian people a political novice and a man with no sense of history, in effect an ineffectual man named Man Mohan Singh was hoisted on the Indian people. He was made the PM of 1.2 billion people. I wonder if such a charade has ever been committed in Indian history.

Such a man was bound to fail and this was reflected in the 2014 election when the Congress was wiped out winning just 44 seats. To top it the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi played a lack lustre role and failed to match the  BJP  mascot Narendra Modi. Many were despondent, but the majority looked forward to the promised "achee din".

Unfortunately the Achee Din have not materialised and there was a chink in the BJP armour. The saying that the hour finds the man is true and Rahul did some introspection. He went on  a 59 days Sabbath to  introspect and on his return a new Rahul has emerged. He has started a strong campaign against Modi. He is helped by the fact that Modi has been sitting on plenty of inaction. Modi has not given the promised OROP for soldiers, bungled on the land bill and overall created the image of a weak internal polity with just bombastic talk and no action, be it Kashmir or industry or anything.

Rahul has seized the moment and he is getting favourable response. Its a rejuvenated Rahul and given his lineage, he may well succeed.

Riding Horses and women

I was taught horse riding at the Academy. It was a wonderful experience.  I still remember my riding instructor Bawa Singh who put me through my paces. It was always a pleasure to control the bucking horse and as I clung to the horse with my legs clasped tightly around its flanks, gave me a feeling of tremendous elation. The horse did throw me down a couple of times, but that was when I was a novice. Once I was the master the horse was my docile pal.  Later I had a string of girl friend, can't help it when you hold the Presidents commission.  Yes! My Air Force monogram on my blazer did the trick. It advertised me and I needed no introduction.   But now with the passage of time I have found that riding is an art, both while riding a woman or a horse. Both experiences are to be savored and I wonder whether my stray thoughts on this subject will interest the reader.

A horse is meant to be ridden and so is a woman. That is the principle and essence of life. One cannot get away from it.A wild horse is tamed by being ‘broken in’.  A woman is similarly de-flowered and tamed. While riding hold on to the horse while in saddle with your thighs clasped strongly.  Likewise hold a woman firmly during sex with you thighs. The grip must be strong so as to press home your advantage. Hold on tightly when a horse bucks and move in rhythm with him.  Duplicate this when a woman also bucks, wriggles and cavorts in passion i.e., hold her tightly and move in rhythm with her.
After a ride pat a horse on his head to convey your appreciation and love for him.  Ditto for a woman after she is ridden. She will appreciate the attention. Build a bond of trust with the horse and understand him.  Likewise a bond of understanding and love needs to be established for riding a woman to ones satisfaction.Follow the rules and you will be the master.

The Psychology of Sex; Is there a Chemistry ?

There is a chance that you will be envious of a pal who moves about with a lovely girl on his arm while you don’t know what to do. Perhaps you feel this guy knows exactly which women to approach while you are clueless and at the end of your tether. You wonder maybe this chap has magic or maybe not. The truth is something simpler and is referred to as the Psychology of sex. Perhaps as a man you might think farfetched that just by looking at a girl you can forecast how she will react. But don’t dismiss this out of hand as there is some truth in this. Yes! One can certainly make a surmise by just looking at the girl what her reaction will be. This is a psychic ability to divine into a girls mind. I don’t think it is magic, but it is a divination that comes from the mind as a man decides how to approach a girl. It is like establishing chemistry, its easy but not all that simple. It is what we refer to as body language and once you vibe with the girl she will respond. he body is a giveaway. It could be an inane act of picking up a fallen handkerchief or just the way a girl breezes into an apartment store or simply sitting with legs crossed or uncrossed. The body language is the clue and one must be in the right mind to divine it.
The hands of a girl are the biggest giveaways. Event palmists concentrate on the hand and this is the biggest clue. Watching the hands will be the acid test. You will have to observe her hands closely. Generally girls are shy in case their hands are slim and pointed fingers. They are also more the dreamers. Large hands on the other hand show obstinacy and you will require greater and harder work to make any headway here. The body is the next in line. Slim girls are dreamier and need greater attention. They could be moody and emotional. Big boned girls will be large hearted. They are apt to be more open to deeper emotions.
Now have a look at her eyes. These requite careful observation. Large eyes show the girl as adventurous while small eyes show caution. Keep a look out for colors and the dress she wears. A slim girl in a pale sari is likely to be more of an extrovert, while a girl in shalwar kameez more staid. Girls in skirts are more open and become friends easily. What I have written is just the tip of the iceberg. You will have to observe the girl in the classroom or the office. You will have to strike chemistry with her. There is no clear cut mantra, but remember to be brave for faint hear never won fair woman

Some Half Truths about the Rani of Jhansi that need Elucidation

RaniLaxmibai of jhansi ( 1835-58) is romanticized as a great woman who fought for the "Independence" of India . She was a brave woman who took on the might of the Raj and died fighting. In her last battle her troops were surrounded by Sir Hugh Rose   and she was killed on 17 March 1858. Sir HughRose the British commander was himself wounded  and later commented that " The Rani was the bravest and greatest of the commanders of the mutiny". All this is very well but some half truths need to be re-stated for history to recognize the truth. The Rani was married at the age of 13 to Raja of Jhansi Maharaj Ganghadhar Rao Newalkar who was 40 years older to her. She gave birth to a son in 1851, who died and after that the maharaj Rao and Laxmibai adopted another boy as heir. This was not recognized by the British. The Mahraj Rao died in 1853 and Rani Laxmibai carried out a ceremony installing the adopted boy as the heir. She appealed to the English to recognize this. The British however did not approve and the Rani repeatedly appealed to the English to recognize the young adopted boy as the heir to the throne of Jhansi. She was not all inclined to fight the English and many overtures to the East India Company. In case the British had accepted the young adopted boy as the Maharaj of Jhansi, theRani was prepared to side with the East India company. The rejection of her request led the  Rani to launch her fight against the British. Her entire aim was very limited and just consisted of allowing her adopted son to rule Jhansi, freedom of India  was never in her mind. Thus the rani was interested in local issues, but her army despite being aided by Tantya Tope was defeated  on all fronts. She fought bravely, but it is small consolation  for the poor performance of the troops of  Tantya Tope and the Rani in battles with the English army.

The Jama Masjid at Fatehpur Sikri was built on a Hindu Temple

Fatehpur Sikri is about 50 km from Agra and for about 15 years was the capital of the Mughal empire. This was during the time of Akbar the great, who became emperor of Hindustan after defeating Samrat Hemu in the 3rd battle of Panipat in 1556. After some years Akbar shifted to Agra and later to Fatehpur Sikri. The place at present is looked after by the ASI ( Archeological Society of India). Incidentally the ASI was set up during the days of the Raj. One monument however is alive and that is the Jama Masjid. This mosque was erected between 1571-76 by Muslim saint named Salim Chisti. The mosque is made of red sandstone and has an outer wall and a large courtyard. The sad part is that this mosque from accounts given by the local people stands on the ruins of an Hindu temple. It is surmised that this mosque was dedicated to Lord Shiva One of the banes of Muslim power is the destruction of Hindu temples and the erection of Mosques over them the samething happened at Fatehpur Sikri. The mosque is known as the Jama Masjid and dedcated to Salim Chisti who is entpmbed here. A look at the walls and the main gate will show typical Hindu structures like 'chatris' with Hondu motifs. These are a giveaway and point to the origin of the Jama Masjid being on a Hindu temple. The mosque is a besutiful piece of architecture and has a Buland Darwaza ( large doorway) with paintings on its walls. The paintings are somewhat faded and need restoration work. The mosque proper has the mazar of Salim Chisti. Akbar it appears was fond of this mosque, hence it lies in close proximity to the Royal Palace where his favorite queen Jodha bai resided.

Two Singing Stars from America; Roy Rogers and Gene Autry

When I was a boy the comics of Roy Rogers and his horse Trigger and Gene Autry with his horse Champion did the rounds of our classrooms. They were both stupendous characters and were what we term as ‘Cowboy singing stars’. They played their roles to perfection and both sang some lovely country hits that still do the rounds of bars in the mid west and east in the United States.
Gene Autry Gene Autry married, but he had no children, but he remained faithful till his wife died in 1981. Rogers himself departed in 1998 and is remembered as one of the most versatile stars of the west on Hollywood screen. His more famous Christmas songs are still sung like ‘Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer.’ Gene was a cowboy star and carved a name for himself both on the radio, the TV and films. He for decades was one of the richest stars of Hollywood. For 10 years he starred in TV serials and endeared himself to the public. Roy Rogers
Parallel to Gene Autry was Roy Rogers. He also expired in 1998 and that signaled the end of an age of Hollywood. Roy Rogers with his horse trigger and wife Dale Evans career ran parallel to Gene Autry. He was last seen active in early 1990 Oscar awards function. Both men were inducted into Hollywood’s legendary Singing stars hall of fame. My preference was for Gene Autry who in his films and comics followed a strict code of conduct. He was clear; help children and women and never shoot first at an opponent and never in the back. Last Word
Both Roy Rogers and Gene Autry are part of history and Hollywood is the richer for these stars that lit the screen with action and songs for 5 decades. That’s some achievement!

The Roman Poet Ovid : Love, Sex and Rape

The Roman Empire is one of the largest and most enduring empires. It spanned a gigantic area from France to Asia Minor. It also produced a retinue of classical writers and philosophers. One of the classical poets of this period is Ovid. This man was born in 43 BC in Rome. This was during the reign of Augustus. Many consider this as the golden age of Rome. It was a period when the Roman empire consolidated and many artists and poets emerged. One of these was Ovid who is recognized as one of the immortals as far as verse is considered. His relationship with Augustus was not very happy. It is possible he was implicated for lovong a high class Roman girl. Many conjecture that this girl was relayed to Augustus or his daughter. But Ovid wad exiled from Rome by Augustus. Ovid died at the age of 57 or 58 in 15-17AD. But in his span of 58 years Ovid created some lovely poetry.

In the modern age Ovid is recognized as the last of the classical poets of the Roman era.
Ovid wrote a number of books with verses. His'Art of love` is a stand out verse. Ovid describes love and allows the reader to infer about rape with his verses on the `Gaze.` Ovid was of the view that a rape can only commence after a man gazes at a woman. A gaze by a man in which he takes stock of the woman for carnal knowledge is the beginning of rape. Ovid himself does not describe the rape in his verses, but as a master poet leaves it to the imagination of the reader.

This is classical poetry and proves that Ovid was a master of the verse. His other works are Heroides, Amores and Ars Amatoria, and o Metamorphoses, Ovid wrote other works as well, but his forte was poetry and verse. There is no doubt he wad the pulse of poetry creation in his grip. Ovid was perhaps a great lover himself. Ther is no doubt that to write love poetry an element of personal experience is always a great help. Ovid died at the age of perhaps 56 or 58. Despite a relatively short span Ovid is recognized as one of the great romantic poets from the classical age from Rome

The Sense of Smell and Sex

Sometime back I had read of a party in New York where the sense of smell dictated partners an dtheir choice. The nuts and bolts was something like this. in an exclusive gathering T Shirts of girl were put in a large open carton and the men were expected to pick up the T Shirt of girl and smell it and make a choice. The host would flash the biodata of the man on a large screen and in case the girl was happy with it, the matter would proceed forward and the two could meet and date. On my visit to Mumbai from Singapore I was pleasently surprised to recieve an invitation for a similar party at his private residense. I attended in my best attire with my blazer sporting my airforce emblem. I handed my bio to my host who announced the rollicking game to begin with a dash of whiskey doing the rounds. There were 15 girls and an equal number of men for this gala occassion.
I spent some time pondering what to do and soon decided to be part of the party. I went to the carton and picked up some T shirts and tried to smell teh aorma. franly I could not detect any odor that could appeal to me. I picked up a blue T Sirt and smelled it. It had a lot of perfume sprayed and it was of small size. Somehoe I liked the arma of teh shirt and signalled my assent. My bio was flashed on the makeship screen and in 30 seconds a girl rushed forward. I was pleasently surprised she was from Assam a state I love and have spent quite a few years there during my stint in the Air Force.
It was a rolicking party and I wonder whether smell has some effect on the sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Maybe there is something and this is one field of study that can be explored by social scientists.

The Concept of Houries or Celestial Beauties in Islam

lims consider the Koran as the word of God. Its contents are sacred. Chapter 52-56 of the Koran specifies a reward for the true believers: men who follow all the injunctions as lay down by Allah and the Koran. These rewards are in the form of Houris or beautiful and spotless virgins. The Koran specifies that these women await at the gates of paradise to give pleasure to the faithful.
The Koran does not lay down any numbers, but the Hadiths’ specify that their number is 72. The Koran says that these houris or celestial nymphs are hairless except for the eyebrows and the head. The Houris characteristics are described in detail and are all feminine. The Koran specifies that in addition to the Houris, an unspecified number of boys will also be available. Among the characteristics of the houris is their celestial quality of being eternal virgins. In that they will re-grow their hymens after each intercourse. They are supposed to be buxom with breasts that do not droop or sag. The concept of the Houris is unique in Islam. The nearest equivalent is the angel in Christianity and the Apsara in Hinduism. The Apsara are also celestial maidens who dance and sing for the believers. But the Angels and Apsara do not have any relation to physical pleasures, which is the purpose of the Houris.
The houris are an inviolable concept in Islam and they are a reward to the faithful who have spent a lifetime in service of Islam and obeyed all the injunctions as laid down. The Koran says that all those who die as a martyr to the faith will be rewarded with these houris.
The concept of the houris is terrific motivator in Islam and many young men have been motivated to kill themselves with the dream of Houris. It must be understood that Islam has a strong mystical tradition which places these heavenly delights in the context of ecstatic awareness of God.

Is a Single Woman Easy Prey to Love Affair

Love is a unique emotion that has been understood and written about by poets and writers. Even psychologists have added their own interpretations. Freud reduced it a hidden desire for sex. But despite this it is a phenomena that cannot be predicted when it will occur. But then it just happens, but it cannot be denied that there are occassions when a person is prone to these affairs. Love is an emotional need and I have seen that single women, spinsters and divorcees are more in the need of this emotional prop. hence the chance that these women will give themselves up to a man is that much more than a contented and happily married woman. This is one of the peculiarities of human emotion and it cannot be quantified. I have known of women emotionally broken been won over by men. Some of the men are emotional crooks whose sole aim is to bed the woman. Should such a man be faulted ? For sex is a human need. But the bottom line is that playing with the emotions of a shattered woman is bad. There have been many cases where men have slept with emotionally shattered women and then left them resulting in suicide by the woman. Perhaps social workers and psychologists may like a look at this aspect of a womans mental make up

The SEX CD and Abhishek Manu Singhvi

Abhishek Manu Singhvi is a prominent face of the Congress party. He is a MP as well chairman of the powerful standing committee on law and jusctice. In addition he is (now was) spokesperson of the Congress party. He is also a well known lawyer. For such a man an event has come to the fore with the discovery of a CD. This disc shows the famous man in a sexescapade with another lawyer.

There are insinuations that Manu had offered to make or recommend the lady for the position of a judge of the High Court. These are bad allegations and reflect poorly on Singhvi. Singhvi claims the CD is morphed. But a closer look at the CD which can be seen on U tube and thefact that there can be no reason to morph the CD shows that Manu Singhvi will have to come up with a more plausible reason.

Frankly what Manu Singhvi does in his spare time in the office should be of no concern to anybody. But once an accusation of 'sex for promotion' is made the affair comes in the public domain. This is where Singhvi has faulted and deserves to be dumped in the waste paper basket. Even earlier his self rightous approach on TV as the Congress spokesperson was irritiating to say the least. Now we know that behind the facade was a hyena.

The Congress has distanced itself from Singhvi, but perhaps that is not enough. The chairperson of the Congress party must take more stringent action, perhaps even expel him. It is important that the men and women who occupy important positions in the polity of the nation are made accountable. Too long has this drift continued.

Unrequited Love, Rekha-Amitabh

http://yield2me.com/-59055.htm
Love they say is the noblest of sentiments in a man and a love between a man and a woman is the stuff of Shiva and Shakti so beautifully presented in the sculptors at Khujaharo. Now when we look back at the Mumbai film industry we are reminded of a love that blossomed between Amitabh Bachan and the siren Rekha
There was a time when both were inseparable and starred in film after film together giving the patrons hits and gossip. Yes, Gossip it was for Amitabh maintained a studious silence, even when the affair was hot and industry walas whispered in hushed tones about an eternal love going on.
Both broke up and now we cannot pinpoint who the culprit was. Maybe marriage was the reason and one of them decided to act holier than the other.
But one can only see the uncomfortableness of Amitabh in the presence of Rekha to realize that something much, much more joined both of them. Rekha wore a Bindi and a mangal sutra then. Did they marry ? Perhaps not.
Amitabh after the break up went through a traumatic phase. Illness and bankruptcy was his nemesis, before he rose up like the proverbial phoenix and like the angry young man re appeared again, but now he was much older and maybe wiser.
Rekha also had her share of ups and downs. She dieted, did yoga and faced the ravages of time with aplomb. But there is a studious silence from both about the affair. Amitabh would not like to talk about it and Rekha is too good a woman to throw mud. So we know there was an affair, but who broke it and why will never be known. Some loves are unrequited and doomed to heartbreak and failure; perhaps that was Rekha’s lot.

Sri Lanka Lose in the Finals, World Series Cricket

Sri Lanka have lost in the finals against Australia. However I will confess despite a comprehensive win in the second final, I always had a lurking feeling at the back of my mind, that Sri Lanka will lose and lose they did.  One can philosophize and say that victory and defeat is part of the game, yet I find that teams from the subcontinent i.e India, Pakistan and Lanka invariably fail outside the sub-continent in winning. at crucial junctures. There are odd victories, but they are just flashes in the pan.
I do not wish to discuss the defeat, but highlight a basic trait in the sub-continent  of throwing the towel. I wonder if it has anything to do with the rule of the British over the sub-continent for 190 years. the British were good rulers, but the people of the sub-continent and Lanka accepted their rule without a whimper. This must be one of the dichotomies of world history where  350 million people allowed themselves to be governed by just a 100,000 Britishers.
This attitude of accepting the inevitable is an eastern trait. Maybe it has something to do with the doctrine of attributing everything to fate. Thus that extra effort required  to win and annihilate an opponent is just lacking in the Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists of the sub continent. I wonder if anybody has thought of the defeats in cricket overhttp://yield2me.com/-59055.htmseas with this thought in mind.

Gandhi, Bose and Nehru, The Clash

Gandhi, Subhas Bose and Nehru are 3 towering figures of Indian poltics and the freedom movement. Out of these Bose and Gandhi represented two different strands of approach to freedom of India. The basic difference between Bose and Gandhi was ideology. Gandhi believed in the creed of non violence and Bose talked of revolution. Nehru without much of a base of his own sided with Gandhi and the anointed heir apparant. In late thirties Bose put forward his theory with vehemence. The net result was that it alarmed Gandhi and Nehru. The mass of Indian population also were galvanized by Bose's call for freedom at any price. This again was not to the liking of Gandhi and he saw his support base shrinking. Matters came to an head in the Lahore session of the Congress party in 1938. Gandhi went public in his opposition to Bose. Above all he opposed the candidature of Bose for the Presidentship of the Congress party. Gandhi in public speech made it clear that Bose must be defeated and his candidate Sitaramiah be elected. Both Gandhi and Nehru thought that in the election Bose would be defeated. The electon result shocked Gandhi. Nehru sulked at the result which brought out that Gandgi's nominee had been defeated by a wide margin. Gandhi's prestige took a nose dive, but he resolved to oust Bose. Gandhi now resorted to his favorite ruse non-cooperation. He refused to meet Bose and also did not meet him. He started a policy of noncooperation with Bose. At this time Subhas Bose wrote a long letter to Nehru requesting support to run the party. It is on record that Nehru ignored the letter and later sent a cursory reply, skirting all the issues raised by Bose. Thus a situation was created by Gandhi and Nehru, where Bose could not function as Congress Partu President. The situatoon was clear to Bose that Gandhi wanted him out of the party. Bose took the extteme step and resigned as Congress President. He parted ways with Gandhi. The exit of Bose was a relief to Gandhi and Nehru. The rest is hostory as Bose charted his seperate course of action and raised the Azad Hind Army to fight the British Raj.

Amrita Shergill, Nudes and Art

When I was younger, I did have some talent as a artist. In those days I painted a lot, but my father was vehemently opposed to any study of art and so I fell in line with him and achieved a conventional degree and carried on in life. Still two or three of my paintings remain as a reminder to what I could have accomplished. Anyway that is old hat now, but my interest in art did not diminish and recently I spent a considerable amount of time witnessing and studying the paintings of Amrita Shergill at the Museum at Delhi.
The paintings are absolutely stunning. The best part are some lovely nudes of herself which stand out in the collection. Who was Amrita Shergill ? Not many may be knowing that she was a Sikh girl who died young at the age of 28. Her short life span however is a beacon to modern Indian painters. Born in 1913 of a Hungarian mother and Sikh father in Hungary, she died of a mysterious illness at Lahore in 1941. I have reproduced one of her paintings to give a reader the visual of the type of painter she was.
Nudity , beauty and women from centuries have gone hand in hand. However It must be understood hat nudism per se is not art. But again most of the greats in the field of art have painted nudes as a form of self expression.

Coming to Amrita Shergill, she was certainly a genius and achieved more than painters in a life time. Her paintings are raw and earthy and conform to the fact that a nude is Gods most wonderful creation. Her self portraits in the nude are there for posterity as a tribute to her skill and spirit. That is perhaps the reason the ancients in India and Greece painted and sculpted nude women. Lastly we must remember that a nude is a creative form of expression and perhaps an erotic woman's painting is the ultimate in creativity.

I feel sad that Amrita died so young. One wonders what she could have achieved in a life time, but then God has his own peculiar way of running the world.

My Boy Hood Days'Legend of the Lone Ranger'

http://yield2me.com/-59055.htm

The Lone Ranger is a fictional character that has carved a niche of its own. It has been the subject of numerous comics and films. Basically the Lone Ranger is man from the wild west, an era in American history just after the Civil War that ended in1865.
The Lone ranger wears a mask, hence his face is never known. He is the nemesis of rustlers, crooks and fighters. He sports 2 revolvers( .45 ) on belt around his waist. He uses distinct bullets which have an caskng os silver. Thus it is common to say that the Lone Ranger uses silver bullets. The Lone Ranger can handle his guns with ease and is a master shot.
The legend is devolped further and the Lone ranger has a white colored steed named trigger. In one of the films Trigger saves the lawman by taking him to water hole with the Lone Rangers hand on the stirrup. The Lone Ranger also has pal. He is a Red Indian brave named Tonto. His horse is called Scout. Both the Lone Ranger and his companion Tonto form a deadly combination as law men.
Hollywood has produced at least half a dozen films on the Legend of the Lone Ranger. The Lone Ranger is character who is much loved in Americs. Even in India he is a character who is easily identified. The lone Ranger and Tonto fight gunmen, killers and rustlers with guns blazing. It makes thrilling stuff and I suppose the Lone Ranger and Tonto wll live for another 100 years

http://yield2me.com/-59055.htm
China is marching ahead, albeit over the backs of  labor living in slave like conditions. it has now built a lighter version of the maglev( Magnetic Levitated)  train. The Chinese plan to use this train in the densely populated areas of Shanghai and Beijing. They have also offered it for sale to other countries.
The lighter version of the maglev train will be only a  3 carriage train and will be able to accommodate 600 passengers. However it will have a turning radius of just 50 meters  and as such will be ina position to run through densely populated areas both commercial and residential. In fact such a train could be a boon for cities like Calcutta and Bombay.

The train will run at one fifth the speed  of the trains marketed by Japan and Germany, but its advantage is its use in cities that are heavily populated. As per reports the train was made operational on Friday19 January 2012 and is some what a blow to Japanese and German  manufacturers of maglev trains. One advantage going in favor of the Chinese train is its operation and cost.. The Chinese train is much cheaper than the Japanese and German trains and is also claimed to be more environment friendly. In addition because of its slower speed and turning radius it can run through the old heavily populated centers of big cities with ease.
The train has been manufactured  by Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive company. The company claims that the risk of derailment and over turning in the heavily populated areas is zero and as such the train is safe to use and run.

The development of this maglev train is not good news for maglev manufacturers in Japan and Germany, as they have a cheaper rival.

Chinese rail is making spectacular advances as is seen with the commissioning of the highest rail line in the world to Lhasa in Tibet. This itself is an engineering feat . Now  with the development of low cost maglev train China is certainly moving ahead. I wonder why India lags in this field. The Indians have virtually no plans of similar trains and are surrendering the leadership of Asia to China.
