Rahul Gandhi had put in a lack luster performance during the last general elections. Probably he realized it and decided he needed a mental make over to beat Modi. This he did by taking a 50 day sabbath in perhaps Burma or Thailand, perhaps in a monastery, though one cannot be sure of that. There was lot of talk about Rahul's sabbath, but I suppose it was needed for him to steel himself and rework his options.
He has now returned and I can say its a rejuvenated Rajiv that has emerged. He has lineage on his side and if he can get his act together there is no reason, why Gandhi cannot make a come back. Gandhi has on return mounted a frontal attack on Modi and castigated him for non approval of OROP, and the land act. Modi has thus handed to Rahul some tailor made issues. One fails to understand why Modi is acting against the very poll promises he said are sacrosanct to him. he has compounded issues by giving lines of credit to the tune of 3 billion dollars to Bangladesh and Mongolia. To what purpose, when thousands of farmers have committed suicide in India and he fails to sanction OROP for the poor soldiers.
Rahul is now a rejuvenated man and I can say that he will be a factor in the years to come for Modi has tied himself in knots on many domestic issues. His success is only in the Foreign policy field , but that will not feed the farmers, who are destitute and poor and committing suicides by the dozens. Modi must be ashamed of this.
One can conclude that Rahul Gandhi has in the manner of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, appeared to fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Modi better watch out. In any case Rahul is 20 years younger than Modi and there is a chance that Modi could be a passing phenomena like Sher Shah Suri
