The Indian film industry is no longer confined to a region and girls from the North of India who do not know the local language like Tamil and Telugu are making an entry in the Southern films. An example is Shriya Saran who is a North Indian girl from Dehradun. She spent her early years in Hardwar, close to Dehradun and then graduated from Delhi University. But luck took her to Hyderabad and a photo shoot with Maxim launched her into a Telugu film.
She was cast in the epic blockbuster Sivaji and later has acted in many Tamil and Telugu films. Shriya is a lovely girl but somehow she has not been able to break into Bollywood and considering that she was born in 1982 making her 32, her chances seem limited.
Shriya also acted in the Hollywood movie “The Other end of the Line’ produced by Anand Amritraj. Her 2014 film includes Raja Raja Chozhanin Porval and Balmiki ki bandook in Hindi. Shriya feels that Indian cinema is one and she hopes to act in all film centers in India.
